Tail-f Systems is a leading developer of on-device configuration management software for the providers of networking equipment. Our customers use our software to add state-of-the art configuration management features to their future products.

This is a job description for a part-time (50%) role that can also be done under contract. The main part of the work is to be done on site at our head office at Klara Norra Kyrkogata 31 downtown Stockholm.

Job description

Manage (install, upgrade and keep stable) a number of servers and services, including firewall, mail server, wireless network, subversion repository etc, for our development infrastructure

• Keep stable documentation of the inventory and procedures for the above
• Suggest improvements in software and hardware choice to optimize performance and usefulness

Background and Skills

Previous experience as a UNIX system administrator is a must and we need someone with good communication skills in terms of verbal and written documentation.
The installed base consists of a number of environments and tools so experience with installing, configuring, and tuning most of the following is required:

• OS: Linux (Ubuntu, Debian), BSD (Free, Open)
• Backups using rsnapshot and rsync
• Networks: basic IP infrastructure, wireless networks, and SSH (tunnels and certificates)
• Scripting in Linux environments including shell, perl, and python
• A wide variety of applications including Apache, Postfix, Courier IMAP, Trac, Subversion, PostgresSQL, MySQL, Yaws, and ejabberd
