Tail-f Offers Advanced Partner Training in Network Service Orchestrations
July 2, 2014
Stockholm — June 30, 2014 — Tail-f Systems, leading provider of multi-vendor service orchestration and network automation solutions, held its first Network Service Orchestration Advanced Training, that included more than 20 system integrators from around the world.
“I was impressed with the caliber of knowledge and talent that attend our training,” said Stefan Wallin, Director of Product strategy at Tail-f Systems. “We need these skilled networking professionals to ensure that deployments of NCS are successful and without added complexity.”
Developed to provide the necessary education and tools to help system integrators understand the context of and strategic planning for network service orchestration, this advanced training allows attendees to apply a more strategic approach to inter-working with other applications and enterprise systems. Additionally, attendees gained a deeper knowledge in programming and developing NETCONF and YANG models. By focusing on a model-driven approach at the service and device level they can enable service agility across multiple enterprise entities.
“We are excited and honored to be part of the initial Tail-f partner onboarding!” said Jan Bervar, CTO of NIL. “The training and team discussions clearly demonstrated the market potential and maturity of Tail-f’s NCS solution. We can now add significant value by rapidly bringing this truly exciting technology to the field.”
The three-day training included in-depth discussions and hands-on development. Attendees learned the following:
- Current Market Landscape
- NETCONF & YANG Workshop (building YANG service models)
- NCS integration into existing and future BSS/OSS architectures
- Technical deployment best practices and trouble-shooting
- Connecting NCS to network devices: Cisco and Juniper examples
- Hands-on lab work on installation, service templates and FastMap
“ACS is very excited to be a System Integrator for Tail-f,” said Robert Pike, CTO at ACS. “NCS is clearly the right product at the right time to help mitigate growing network complexities due to the convergence of hardware-based and virtualized networks. Today’s service providers need tools to help simplify the OSS model that supports these wonderfully flexible, yet over-complicated systems and networks.”
Tail-f’s NCS solution provides a single network-wide interface to all network devices, applications and services, as well as a common modeling language and datastore for both services and devices. Tail-f NCS leverages YANG (RFC 6020) and NETCONF (RFC 6241) – two powerful standards that address service and device modeling and fail-safe mechanisms to change network configurations.
