Tail-f Systems Offers Formal Training Program in Response to Industry Interest in NETCONF Protocol

STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN – July 28, 2010 – Tail-f Systems, the leading provider of on-device configuration management software for networking equipment providers, today announced a formal training curriculum on the NETCONF protocol and YANG modeling language.

NETCONF (RFC 4741) is an IETF standard developed to meet the increasing need for automated configuration management in modern enterprise and carrier networks. Designed from the ground up to address these needs, NETCONF provides the foundation for the transformation from manual to highly automated network operations. YANG extends the benefits of NETCONF by providing a standards-based approach to modeling network element management data.

“The interest in NETCONF and YANG is growing rapidly as the networking industry must meet new requirements to configure complex new services efficiently and accurately,” said Carl Moberg, COO, Tail-f Systems. “The demand for information on these technologies has grown to a scale where it makes sense for us to offer a formal training program.”

The standard two-day course will provide students both a comprehensive overview of the NETCONF protocol and the associated YANG modeling language and include practical hands-on experience through a series of Labs. The training is aimed at product managers, architects, engineering managers, and developers. Classes will be taught by Tail-f Systems’ senior technical and product managers who are experienced with real-world implementations of these technologies.

The NETCONF and YANG training classes with be available starting in the third quarter of 2010. For more information on the curriculum and pricing, email Tail-f Systems at info@tail-f.com.
